Female Founded.

The Gender breakdown of U.S. advertising and promotions managers in 2021 that was published on March, 25 2022 on Statstia.com:

In 2021, according to employment data in the United States, 42.4 percent of employees in the advertising and promotions industry were women. The remaining 57.3 percent working in the industry were men. McKinsey & Company conducted a study and the results show that Women made up only 5% of the CEOs appointed in 2020 globally, and at the CEO level, men outnumber women by approximately 17 to one.

Michael Holmes, an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at Florida State University, conducted a study alongside professors of management Gang Wang and Rich Devine as well as John Bischoff, who was a doctoral student in management during the study. The results he wrote were disappointing nonetheless, but not surprising. The study showed that “although female chief executives attended more elite schools than their male counterparts did, bolstering their education credentials, they were less likely to chair their companies’ boards, had shorter tenures as CEOs and were paid less.”

What likely causes the large gap in the career trajectories between men and women are the stereotypes and favoritism. Holmes states that:

“Unfortunately, many discriminatory factors reduce the demand for female CEOs. For one thing, women are subject to gender stereotypes. The stereotypical qualities of effective leaders – such as aggression, ambition and dominance – tend to overlap with the stereotypical qualities of men more than women.

As a result, men are often considered natural leaders when they exhibit traits like aggression, whereas women displaying these same qualities might be penalized for appearing “unfeminine.”

Another problem is women are the victims of in-group favoritism. People tend to evaluate others who are similar to them more favorably. This bias hurts women because nearly 80% of board members in large U.S. public companies are men. These are the people responsible for hiring and paying CEOs, after all.”

Women play an integral role in the marketing industry and within the business world. I am proud to be a female CEO, as  I will strive to empower and help other women in business.
